New York Internet has designed its backbone with the ability to minimize distressed and over-allocated network access points to offer the most reliable and consistent data pipe available today. The network is dual OC-12 based with direct links to all major carriers and public exchanges. There is a wide range of bandwidth starting from 128 Kbps and up to 1 Gbps that can be fixed, or burstable. With fixed bandwidth, the committed information rate of your connection is physically set at the speed you specify. This allows for lower pricing as well as reliable performance. New York Internet is one of those companies that would rather lead than follow. This is exemplified in-part by NYI's burstable bandwidth offerings for its colocation and dedicated server products. In NYI's effort to offer the most relevant and straight-forward solutions, we have given the client a better way to order bandwidth. Our burstable product combines the best of both worlds: The reliability and price safety of a committed information rate, and the value of a monthly data transfer rate. This allows clients to get access to faster throughput rates at cheaper prices.

NYI's trained on-site technicians can provide basic remote maintenance services and troubleshooting capabilities to Colocation customers by acting as their "hands" and "eyes."

NYI also offers Remote Reboot services, available 24x7x365. Remote Reboot service can be arranged with on-site staff in as little as 15 minutes.

By interacting with NYI's knowledgeable staff and "remotely accessing" their equipment, Colocation customers can perform tasks and receive immediate feedback without physically traveling to the site.

Afco and Rittal fully welded cabinets conform to standards for 19" enclosed racks and feature two wire troughs towards the back of the cabinet. A contemporary locking plexiglass front door gives the data cabinet the security and rugged good looks that provide for an enclosure that surpasses many of the competitors in the industry with all around performance. The fully venting, fully meshed rear door and top panel achieve superior air flow, while the top mounted 950 cfm fan blows hot air directly out of harms way while drawing in cool air towards your equipment. Lastly, mounting rails feature the square-hole brackets that are compatible with Compaq, Dell, Sun, Cisco, as well as many other manufacturers.

We at NYI not only want you to be a satisfied client, but an informed one as well. For this reason, we worked hard to develop a way for you to view your exact bandwidth usage on four different time intervals (last few days, weeks, months or year) in a convenient and private way. We use an external program to collect the relevant numbers from our routers and graph them. Then our system makes your graph or set of graphs available to you using a secure method that ensures your privacy as well as convenience. All the relevant set of your systems has its own graph, displayed neatly one below another with a textual summary for the current time interval for a quick way to understand exactly what's going on at all times.

Who is visiting my server right now? What protocol are they using? These types of questions get answered by our monthly Security Link Analysis. New York Internet's security analysis team has the capabilities to troubleshoot your Internet connection in real time. This can give you an easy to follow detailed analysis of who is connecting to your server. It will show you what ports they are connecting to, what type of packets are being sent across, and, most importantly, if these packets are legitimate traffic. This information should improve the quality of your service at any speed.

Switched Ports greatly increase the viability of a network by utilizing store-and-forward switching technology to avoid congestion as well as Cyclic Redundancy Errors and collisions. Additionally, NYI utilizes 801.q tag switching to implement VLANs in order to physically separate clients networks from each other. This increases security as well as decreasing unnecessary unicast and multicast broadcasting thereby eliminating packet sniffing. NYI also improves client bandwidth forecasting, implementation, and troubleshooting by including charted statistics depicting utilization of the service.

Advanced, remote power control to mission critical networking and internetworking equipment. This gives you the ability to remotely reboot your equipment when you can't do so through your software. This service immediately disconnects power to the equipment, then brings the power back online, essentially serving as a "cold boot".

With our Data Center in the heart of Downtown Manhattan, one block away from the New York Stock Exchange and other major financial institutions; NYI is situated at the intersect of two separate power grids to offer full redundancy and added capacity.
